Maintenance and Support

Transtoll has significant experience in the provision of maintenance services in both the domestic and international markets.

Transtoll offers support for both hardware and software. Our hardware support is based on strong relationships with in-country partners, while software support is normally provided remotely. Maintenance agreements have been entered into with nations across the globe including the United Kingdom, USA, Europe, Asia, South Africa and Australia.

Transtoll prides itself on being at the forefront of technology. In this regard we are developing techniques as part of our maintenance services, that will advise us in real-time if there is a problem with tolling equipment and/or software. Examples include ‘Heart-beat Monitoring’ and ‘Email Notification Technology (ENT)’. ‘Heart-beat Monitoring’ includes embedding an alarm station into equipment or systems. When a critical failure is encountered, the alarm activates and sends appropriate messages (to workstations and SMS) advising that there is a problem requiring attention. The frequency of the alarm signal escalates itself until such time as the problem is (at least) acknowledged and/or fixed. ‘ENT’ involves automatically sending an email message if a problem in software exists. The email identifies the fact that maintenance is required and automatically flags the attention of appropriate technical staff to the problem, as opposed to waiting for a support call or maintenance request to be logged by our customers.

While we take an international stance to business Transtoll’s approach is localised to the needs and requirements not only of the individual customers and the country but the project itself. With the assistance of in-country partners Transtoll provides 24x7x365 support. While the support structures adopted by Transtoll vary somewhat from project to project, the overall methodology is based on a 3-tier platform.

Project Management
Every one of Transtoll’s project managers has had years of experience directly in the field of transportation technology. The project management team includes experienced engineers who not only understand the technical considerations, but also the financial and scheduling considerations involved in effective project execution, while ensuring a high level of communication is maintained between all parties involved.
