Welcome to Transtoll

Tolling has come a long way since the days when somebody stood beside the road collecting coins in a bucket before motorists were allowed to pass. These days a toll road is an incredibly sophisticated system consisting of dozens of roadside sensors that detect and classify vehicles, radio equipment that communicates with on-board transponders in those vehicles, back office systems to link the transponders to customer accounts, charge those accounts via credit card and direct debit bank facilities, manage the accounts by contact centers or website, share the information about the traffic with other toll roads, and report the transactions to the owners and operators of the road. In addition there are peripheral systems to capture revenue from those who try to use the road without paying, and systems to monitor and report on the health of the various components and subsystems that make up the tolling infrastructure.

Running a tolling system is a challenge. Designing, delivering and maintaining a tolling system is even more of a challenge. At Transtoll, we thrive on that challenge, and we do it every day.
